TIMELINE · NEWEST FIRST

Every release, in plain English.

  1. V8.4.1LATEST

Free downloadable inspection checklists + a new compliance glossary

    • Every inspection template now has a free, printable PDF checklist you can download and hand to a crew on day one — no account needed. Browse them in the Checklists library (formerly Templates) by equipment type: crane, forklift, excavator, aerial lift, CDL pre-trip, and more.
    • New Glossary of equipment-inspection and compliance terms — plain-English definitions for DVIR, DOT annual inspections, ASME B30, critical lifts, lockout/tagout, competent vs. qualified person, and the OSHA/FMCSA standards behind each one, with links to the matching checklist.
    • New transparent Pricing page: flat monthly tiers (not per-vehicle), with every inspection checklist, lift plan, JSA, and the deficiency workflow included on every plan.
  2. V8.4.0

    Per-user permissions, equipment-scoped exports, monthly roll-up PDF

    • Company Admins can now grant specific capabilities — like "export company data" or "generate monthly roll-up" — to Supervisors or other team members without promoting them to Branch Admin. Set it in Manage Company → Users → edit. New grants are opt-in per user: Supervisors, Mechanics, and Operators start with no extra capabilities until you enable them. Branch Admins still get every capability automatically.
    • The Export tool now lets you pick exactly which equipment to include, not just a date range. Useful when a customer or auditor asks for a specific asset list at month-end.
    • New Monthly Roll-Up PDF — pick a month and a piece of equipment, get a landscape grid with every inspection field as a row and each day of the month as a column. Pass / fail / blank in every cell. Pick multiple assets and you get a ZIP with one PDF per unit. This is the standard inspection-compliance grid auditors expect for turn-in, and it makes missed days visually obvious.
    • You'll find Export and Monthly Roll-Up as buttons in the top-right of the Inspections page — they show automatically for admins and for any team member you've granted the matching permission. Admins can also still reach the full export under Manage Company → Export, as before.
  3. V8.3.3

    Type system, template-page depth

    • The marketing site got a typography rebuild — heavier, more industrial display type for headlines, and a sturdier body face. If the site looked a little generic before, it now reads like the tool brand it should.
    • Template detail pages are deeper. The three rolling out first — Mobile Crane Monthly, Confined Space Entry, and Skid Steer / CTL — each now include who actually runs the inspection, the deficiencies inspectors catch most often, current OSHA fine ranges with a direct link to the regulation, and a short FAQ. More templates to follow.
    • Search Console housekeeping — Open Graph images no longer get indexed as standalone pages, which removes some noise from coverage reports.
  4. V8.3.2

    Branded system emails

    • Every transactional email — welcome / invitation / password reset — now ships with a consistent DigiDocs shell: branded header, hazard-tape accent, inbox-preview text, and a footer with the legal entity and support links. Same content, dramatically more polished.
    • Emails render correctly in dark-mode mail clients (no more inverted brand colors) and degrade gracefully across Outlook, Gmail, and Apple Mail.
  5. V8.3.0

Twelve new templates, a refreshed marketing site, and a browsable template library

    • Twelve new inspection templates covering scaffolding (OSHA 1926.451), fall protection harnesses (1926.502), trench/excavation (1926.651), confined space entry (1926.1203), hot work permits (NFPA 51B), steel erection, pile drivers, demolition equipment, drilling rigs, asphalt pavers, electrical/temp power, and stairways + ladders. 44 templates total across 20 trade categories.
    • New /templates page — a filterable catalog of every template, searchable by name + equipment type + standard, filterable by cadence and trade. Each template has its own detail page showing section structure, what's included, and related templates.
    • Marketing site redesigned end-to-end with a new industrial-precision aesthetic — built for crews who get their hands dirty, not generic SaaS. Every public page (home, features, support, getting started, partners, and the SEO landing pages) now shares one coherent design language with refreshed typography, hazard-tape accents, and a much cleaner pricing layout.
    • Sticky nav now stays solid and visible across every section as you scroll — no more transparent state, no images bleeding through.
    • Better social previews — every page now generates a custom 1200×630 Open Graph image automatically, so LinkedIn, Twitter, and Slack previews look polished for any URL you share.
  6. V8.2.1

Polish for signed-in visitors on marketing pages

    • Fixed a layout glitch where pages like /features, /changelog, /privacy, and /terms rendered cramped inside the app sidebar when viewed while signed in.
    • Public pages now show a single "Go to Dashboard" button instead of "Log In / Sign Up" when you're already signed in.
  7. V8.2.0

Smarter deficiency workflow + operator-led lockout

    • Front-line operators can now decide whether a deficiency should physically lock the equipment out. Self-recoverable issues (e.g. missing load charts) no longer trap your crew waiting on a mechanic.
    • Company Admins choose a lockout policy that fits their risk profile — fully operator-driven, smart-prefill for critical findings, or strict (CRITICAL always locks).
    • Repair SLAs are now per-company. Set how long a Critical, Safety, or Standard deficiency can stay open before it's flagged Overdue on the dashboard.
    • Deficiencies have a single unified workspace — mechanics see their queue, fleet leads see assets grouped with severity counts and an at-a-glance "All resolved" pill once everything's verified.
    • New mechanic auto-assignment: each branch can designate the lead mechanic to receive new work, with optional per-asset overrides.
    • Repair Insights dashboard surfaces cost per asset (labor × parts) and recurring issues — find your problem rigs before they cost you a job.
  8. V8.1.0

    Platform-wide notices and polish

    • Important announcements can now appear as a banner across every account, scoped by audience and time window.
    • Refreshed onboarding flow and a clearer "What's new" surface inside the app.
  9. V8.0.0

Major release: scheduling, public API, voice notes, anomaly detection

    • Conditional template fields — show or hide checks based on earlier answers, so each inspection only asks what's relevant.
    • Recurring inspection schedules driven by calendar or meter readings.
    • Public REST API + webhook subscriptions for syncing inspections, deficiencies, and equipment with your other systems.
    • Asset health scores trend over time — spot the rigs that need attention before they break down.
    • Voice notes and short video clips can now be attached to any inspection.
    • Customer-share inspection links — send a read-only inspection record to a client without giving them a login.
    • Anomaly detection flags unusual inspection patterns (10-second submissions, all-pass on a known-bad asset, etc.) for supervisor review.
    • Tool Talks: log company- or platform-shared safety talks and capture team sign-offs.
    • Telematics groundwork — adapter pattern in place for fleet-tracking integrations.
  10. V7.0.0

Projects: scope operators and equipment to specific job sites

    • Tag equipment and inspections by project so multi-site companies can see only the gear assigned to a given job.
    • Operators and supervisors can be scoped to one or more projects — they'll only see their assigned work. Equipment with no project tag stays globally visible for shared yard and rigging gear.
    • Project filter dropdowns on the Equipment and Inspections pages, plus a Project column on the inspection lists so you can sort by job.
    • Mechanics stay fleet-wide by design — repairs cross project boundaries.
    • Project management lives under Company Admin → Organization, alongside Users and Branches.
    • Available on Enterprise and Enterprise Plus.
  11. V6.0.0

Project filtering on Equipment + Inspections

    • Searchable project filter on the Equipment page — type to narrow projects, with one-click clear.
    • Equipment automatically groups by project when at least one piece is tagged; falls back to the type grouping when projects aren't in use.
    • Project column added to the Inspections and admin inspections lists. Search now matches the project name too.
    • Non-Enterprise customers see zero UI change — project filtering only surfaces on plans that include it.
  12. V5.0.0

Partner program, QR labels, monthly rollups, paired CDL inspections

    • Partner program launched — affiliate signups now pay a recurring commission on referred subscriptions. Apply from the public Partners page.
    • Monthly compliance rollup PDFs generate on the 1st of each month and aggregate every inspection across your fleet. Hand them to insurers, safety officers, or auditors directly.
    • QR code equipment labels — print Avery 5163 sheets with a unique QR per unit. Scan from a phone to land straight in the inspection for that asset.
    • Paired CDL pre-trip + trailer inspections — completing a truck pre-trip now flows straight into the trailer inspection in one session.
    • Append-only post-inspection notes for follow-ups — add a note or photo after the fact with a permanent author + timestamp trail.
    • Luffing-jib tower crane templates added, including boom-foot pins, pendants, backstays, and luffing hoist cable checks.
    • PWA install support across iOS, Android, and major browsers — add DigiDocs to your home screen and use it like a native app.
    • Branch-scoped supervisor accounts for multi-yard companies that want supervisors restricted to specific locations.
    • Templates browser gained search + filtering; admin nav reorganized into clearer groups.
  13. V4.0.0

Branches for multi-location companies + Enterprise Plus tier

    • Branches let you separate equipment, users, and reports by location. Admins switch branches from a single dropdown and the rest of the app — dashboard stats, inspections, deficiencies, exports — filters along with it.
    • Enterprise (up to 5 branches) and Enterprise Plus (unlimited branches) tiers launched.
    • Trial accounts no longer count toward your MRR or revenue numbers in superadmin reporting.
  14. V3.0.0

Inspection numbering, meter fields, email invitations, getting-started guide

    • Sequential inspection numbers (INS-0001, INS-0002…) so you can cite a specific report by number.
    • Configurable meter fields per piece of equipment — track engine hours, odometer, hammer-blow count, or any custom meter your shop uses.
    • Severity selector when marking an inspection item as Fail (Standard / Safety / Critical) so the deficiency carries a priority from day one.
    • Email-based user invitations replace the old shared-password flow. Pending users show a clear badge until they accept.
    • Inspection frequencies — daily, weekly, monthly, annual — applied across the template builder and schedules.
    • Rigging now lives in its own equipment category, separate from General.
    • Public Getting Started guide added to the marketing site with 11 walk-through steps for new teams.
    • Password reset flow added with bot protection.
  15. V2.0.0

PDF exports, first-launch setup wizard, signed inspections

    • PDF generation for inspections, JSAs, and lift plans — included automatically in the ZIP export with photos attached.
    • First-launch setup wizard walks new Company Admins through adding their first branch, equipment, users, and template.
    • Login is now protected by bot-detection on accounts where it's enabled.
    • Continue Inspection now properly resumes with the responses you already entered.
    • Lift Plan picked up Line Pull and Excavations fields and dropped the Center of Gravity input that operators rarely used.
    • Template locking — pin a template version to a piece of equipment so unrelated edits don't cascade into in-flight inspections.
  16. V1.0.0

    First public release

    • Multi-tenant equipment inspection platform with role-based access (Operator, Mechanic, Supervisor, Company Admin) and per-company branding.
    • Mobile inspection wizard with Pass / Fail / N/A, photo capture, signature, and operability determination.
    • Default templates for cranes, forklifts, CDL trucks, aerial lifts, excavators, and more.
    • Deficiency workflow — failed items create deficiency records that mechanics can pick up, repair, and verify on the next inspection.
    • Job Safety Analyses, Bills of Lading, lift plans, and personnel basket plans.
    • Subscription billing with a 14-day free trial on Professional. Starter and Professional tiers available at launch.
    • Admin reports dashboard with CSV / ZIP export. Audit trail on every action.
    • Public landing page, pricing, support, and FAQ.
